Currently there are no changes made to the Kentucky Derby 2021 prize money, the winner will received share of ($1.86 million). The winning jockey earn 10% share from the prize money ($186k). Runner-up in the Kentucky Derby receive his share of ($600k) and jockey get paid ($30k).
The prize fund of Kentucky Derby hike after 2005, the previous increase is $1 million. Since 2005-2018 the fund remain adjusted $2 million later in 2019 it’s announced that $1 million more added which increase total prize fund upto $3 million.
