Sri Lanka cricket team recently tour Pakistan for the Test series 2019-20. The cricket board of Sri Lanka made allot changes to the T20, ODI and Test team squad. Sri Lanka cricketers salaries also impacted in last 4-5 years on base of their performances. Board looking to give contracts to the fittest players for the squad.
Sri Lanka team from first position and 2nd position move to 6th and 8th in ICC ODI, T20 and Test rankings. The players contracts also changed for the new cricket season 2020-21. In 2018, TSM Sports revealed the Sri Lanka cricketers salaries according to which retainer fees is ($400,000) maximum. In 2017, Sri Lanka cricket board announce 34% hike in the salaries of cricketers. The ODI match fees increased from $3,000 to $5,500. The T20 players earn ($3,500) from their new contracts with board. Test cricketers selected for the series received ($7,500) match fees.
The financial details of Sri Lanka cricket players taken from top cricket sources. The central contracts offered in five categories (A, B, C, D, and Premier). Players offered contracts in premier category only earn match fee’s there is base salary for them according to news sources.
Its not confirmed how much they earn as retainer fees. Dimuth Karunaratne annual base salary more than other include extra captain’s fees. The board also increase the salaries for the domestic cricketers to secure the future of Sri Lanka cricket board.

Just like other cricket boards Sri Lanka cricket board also pay match bonus players who scored century or take five wickets in the match. A cricket magazine revealed the prize money share each cricket team distributed among their players, the report revealed that 25% prize money of any ICC Cricket Tournament paid to the players and other used for the development of cricket in Sri Lanka.
